Academic Decathlon

St. Rita School’s Academic Decathlon consists of students invited by the Administration from grades 6th-8th. Students who qualify must have good conduct, study habits, high STAR test scores and grades of As and Bs in academic subjects. Team members study together from November through March. Ten students are chosen to compete in the Los Angeles Archdioceses Junior High Academic Decathlon in March at California State University at Long Beach. Over one hundred schools in the Los Angeles Archdiocese participate in the competition. Decathlon members for St. Rita School study chosen subjects for the competition in conjunction with their normal course work. Students study together and with the help of coaches to prepare for this Decathlon.
